Happy Derbyversaire III

The PARIS ROLLERGIRLS are celebrating their THIRD Derbyversary. Today. Still and always on Valentine's day because we bring the passion (or should we rather say: because passion brought us?) Time flies.

Let's make the proverb lie!
On the first year, we had organized that bootcamp which makes me very nostalgic. On the second year, there was a private home team bout. The overall situation back then does not bring very good memories -- diminished after injury, it was my first plunge into derby for a couple of months and I felt very lost and frustrated in the public.

This year, we are going to mark the occasion with our first A-Team bout of the season this weekend against the Royal Windsor RollerGirls, preceeded by the very first bout of our men's twin league, the Panam Squad who will meet the Kamiquadz of Montpellier.

And we will of course finish with a flourish with an afterbout party at the Bootlager's!

I hand over to Sailor Blood for the conclusion:

It's got (almost) nothing to do with derby, but I cannot just go on as if nothing had happened:
I'm glad to announce you that my band's second album is out today. That's the way it had to be: ΣLΣVΣN was meant to be released on the 11.11.11.
The title stands for lots of things, the most obvious being that we're in 2011 and that it's the 11th anniversary of the band.

At first Akouphën was a crew intermixing different artistic fields, but as time went by it focused on music. I joined the band in 2005, we made a good bunch of concerts and we issued our first album "Face.A" in 2007 with Ozore Age/Pias. A great first step which I was very proud of, although I was aware that our sound was still a bit young and needed to mature.
I left that very year because I had to move for skating reasons, and I dedicated the next couple of years to my Freestyle Skating career. I put an end to it in 2010 -- switching to derby, and going back to my second passion: music.

"Paris Brings the Passion!"

This is the slogan of the League. Don't ask me how they came to this, I'm sad enough not to have been there when it happened -- I was giving a slalom workshop the whole weekend...

But here it is, and Man it rules!

EDIT: Ok so now I learnt how it came from... Amelia went to a bootcamp in Germany and described us as very tactile, always hugging and kissing each other, caring when one of us falls or takes a hit... which kind of stroke her at first. And she concluded her description with "Paris brings the passion".
